Dimako Transformers was founded in 1969 by Mr Petros Dimako and initially operated in a small workshop on the second floor in End street. Today, Dimako Transformers have been inoperation for 43 years in the Manufacturing business of Transformers and Switchgear for the mining industry in South Africa.
We are a provider of world-class products within the industry ranging from Flameproof Mining electrical equipment to surface electrical equipment used in the mining industry. The company was founded in 1969 and is proudly South Africa with 80% in-house manufacturing.

Our Services
Dimako manufactures a range of flameproof MV switchgear from 3.3kV to 11kV and 200 to 630Amps. The switchgear extends from simple on load isolators (air and SF6) to SF6 circuit breaker and isolator combinations to vacuum circuit breakers and isolators. The units are designed to be free standing or transformer mounted. In the free standing configuration combinations of switchgear can be concatenated to form a multi outlet distribution centre. All flameproof switchgear is manufactured under the SABS quality system and all carry the SABS Quality Assurance Mark.
